There are two ways of using this tool:

First, by filling-in the data in Location/Soil Type panel, then checking the appropriate checkboxes in the Current/Future Conditions panels.

Second, by selecting the State and County combo boxes and then clicking the "Show Fields" button after the loading spinner disappears, or scrolling down to the map area.

Once the map is shown, zoom to the field you want to query and click inside the field. The appropriate data will be filled-in automatically in the Soil Type panel (if available), except for the "Optional Report Data."

The first option is available for those who don't know the location of their field on the map. The second option option allows you to simply click on the field of your choice to fill-in the appropriate data in the Soil Type panel.

The fields that are overlayed on the map are based on Cropland Sequential Boundaries (CSB) data from USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service. They do not reflect the actual boundaries found on the Google Map. The CSB data can be downloaded at: www.nass.usda.gov/Research_and_Science/Crop-Sequence-Boundaries/index.php
